The Journal of Physical Literacy and Innovative Teaching (JPLIT) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal advancing research and professional practice in physical literacy, teaching, learning, and educational innovation. JPLIT connects scholars and practitioners across education, movement, health, sport, community, and professional fields, with a commitment to inclusion, ethical inquiry, methodological rigor, and meaningful human development.

Our two publication streams

Physical Literacy, Movement, and Active Living. JPLIT publishes scholarship on physical literacy across the lifespan and across physical education, movement, health, sport, recreation, coaching, adapted activity, community programs, and related policy and professional contexts.

Innovative Teaching and Learning. JPLIT welcomes scholarship from all teaching professions and disciplines in K–12 and higher education, including professional and vocational programs. Submissions may address pedagogy, curriculum, assessment, learning design, educational technology and AI, inclusion, faculty or teacher development, leadership, implementation, and educational change.

Manuscripts may address one stream or their intersection. Innovative-teaching submissions are not required to include physical literacy.
